Research on Pyrolysis Kinetics of Shenhua Coal and Direct Liquefaction Residue

Abstract: The pyrolysis tests of Shenhua coal and Shenhua direct liquefaction residue have been carried out using thermogravimetric at the differential heating rate. The kinetic parameters k and E were calculated using DAEM method. Results show DAME model can describe the pyrolysis behavior of Shenhua coal within the range of 20% to 95%, the activation energy of coal pyrolysis ranges from 53.98 to 279.38 kJ/mol, and DAME model can describe the behavior of Shenhua direct liquefaction residue within the range of 10% to 80… Show more

“…That is to say, AAME in DLR did not contribute to the interaction during co-pyrolysis. Moreover, this result was essentially in agreement with the work of Chu et al [6]. However, they used DLR and HCl-HF-washed DLR in a thermogravimetric analyzer whereas this experiment was done with THFIS/THFS with lignite in a fixed bed reactor.…”

“…(5) The effect of mass blending ratios of DLR (0.425-0.85 mm) in co-pyrolysis at 550°C were investigated. (6) To clarify the source of interaction during co-pyrolysis, DLR was extracted with tetrahydrofuran (THF) in Soxhlet apparatus as commonly found in the literature [5]. The THF soluble and THF insoluble fractions obtained are defined as THFS and THFIS, respectively.…”

“…In the higher temperature region, condensation reactions might be occurred, and the semi-coke could be converted to form coke with the release of some small gaseous molecules, the process of which demands less energy (showing lower activation energy). Additionally, the pre-exponential factor of each swollen coal shows a change order consistent with the activation energy, indicating that there is a compensation relationship between the factor and the activation energy …”
