Research on the Effects of Roughness on the Tactile Properties of Rice Straw Particleboard Surface

Abstract: To explore the effects of roughness on the tactile properties of rice straw particleboard (RSP), the surface roughness and psychological tactile and visual experiments were conducted for RSP substrates with 0.76 g/cm3 and 0.55 g/cm3 densities after sanding with sandpaper (mesh 180#, 360#, and 600#). The effects of different sandpaper types, sanding time, and density of RSP on the surface roughness were analyzed. The experimental results are as follows. The sanding treatment had significant influence on the su… Show more

“…As can be seen from Figure 9, as the mass fraction of microcapsules increases, the gloss gradually decreases. This is because the increase in the mass fraction of microcapsules increases the roughness (Figure 10) of the surface of the paint film [24], and the rise in surface particles leads to the enhancement of the diffuse reflection phenomenon on the coating surface [25], thereby reducing the gloss of the paint film. The more microcapsules are added, the more uneven the film surface and the greater the roughness.…”

“…The infrared emissivity of the coating range of 8-14 µm was tested on the infrared dual-wave infrared radiometer (Shanghai Institute of Technological Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China). The coating roughness was tested using the JB-4C roughness meter (Shanghai Taeming Optical Instrument, Shanghai, China) [20]. The HP-2136 chromatometer (Zhuhai Tianchuang Instrument Co., Ltd., Zhuhai, China) was used to directly measure the chromatic values of coatings.…”

“…The hardness test of the coating film refers to how strong the resistance of the topcoat film is when foreign objects invade the surface, and is an important indicator of the mechanical strength of the topcoat film [24]. The hardness of the topcoat film is shown in Table 4.…”
