Research on Wear Resistance of Multifunctional Coatings Used in the Manufacture of Art and Industrial Products

Abstract: This article deals with the issues of assessment of wear resistance of multifunctional coats used in the manufacture of art and industrial products. The article shows that in the production process of such products protective&decorative coatings are widely used. They must possess a complex of features, among which wear-resistance occupies a front place. To determine this parameter, the authors developed a special technique for accelerated testing and upgraded the test benches, which makes it possible to as… Show more

“…Adjustment of operating characteristics of the systems and assemblies of vehicles requires the introduction of rational diagnosing testing. To reduce the cost of materials and ensure a rational resource of mated parts, as well as to reduce the number of service operations, a method is used to apply coatings onto the working surfaces of mated parts [32,33]. A given procedure can be implemented at technical service only under the conditions of the overhaul of parts and after proving its effectiveness; that, however, requires significant capital investments in the service infrastructure of an enterprise.…”

“…But the author did not consider the working surfaces of parts in various environments and friction modes. The development of tribotechnology makes it possible to form new wear-resistant structures in the surface layers of tribological parts [20]. The course of the friction process in tribological conjugates with composite oil determines the formation of local regions with better physicochemical properties in the same way as when treated with a concentrated energy flow [21].…”
