The aim of this study is to determine whether smart technologies can bring sustainable competitiveness to manufacturing firms and this study attempts to determine it through theoretical linear modelling. This paper reflects on the importance of sustainable competitiveness and means of achieving sustainable competitiveness by highlighting it through analysis of scientific literature review. It explains competitiveness by the means of resources and capabilities, clustering, and public policy. This study also presents an analytical framework that interlinks Quintuple Helix model, Industry 5.0, and sustainable competitive. This study also emphasizes on a management strategy that explains how a manufacturing firm devise a strategy to obtain sustainable competitiveness. A theoretical linear model is developed that identifies digital technologies proven to be the source of manufacturing competitiveness. This work also shed light to the limitations in order to measure or determine competitiveness factor at national, regional, or firm level. For the future researchers, this study provides a baseline to develop a mechanism of measuring competitiveness based on smart technology.

Objective of the study: This study aimed to investigate how collaboration between actors in the innovation ecosystem is related to the transfer of knowledge between institutions.Methodology/Approach: The study units were the innovation hubs of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology in Brazil accredited by Embrapii. The methodological approach of the research was qualitative; the method employed was the multiple-case study; the data collection was conducted through semistructured interviews with representatives from academia, company, government, and society; and the results were obtained via content analysis.Originality/Relevance: Based on the findings of this research, it was possible to elaborate an analytical model to relate the level of collaboration and transfer of knowledge between agents of the innovation ecosystem.Main Results: The main results indicated that the collaboration between the actors was related to the transfer of knowledge through the creation and expansion of the established partnerships as well as the management of the facilitators and difficulty of this relationship.Theoretical/ Methodological Contributions: The theoretical contribution was the proposition of an integrated analytical model of collaborative relations and knowledge transfer between members of the innovation ecosystem.Management/Social Contributions: The managerial contribution of the study was the identification of key aspects to improve the collaborative relationship between the actors of the innovation and knowledge transfer ecosystem. The social contribution consists of the possibility of collaboration expansion and knowledge transfer by enhancing the facilitating factors and minimizing the difficulties identified in the researched innovation ecosystems.

Objetivo: O propósito deste estudo é investigar como a colaboração entre os atores do ecossistema de inovação se relaciona com a transferência de conhecimento entre as instituições. Referencial Teórico: Utiliza-se a teoria da gestão do conhecimento, agregando os modelos das hélices (tripla, quádrupla e quíntupla) e os conceitos de ecossistema de inovação. Método: As unidades de estudo são os polos de inovação dos Institutos Federais de Educação, credenciados pela Embrapii. A abordagem metodológica da pesquisa é qualitativa, o método utilizado é o estudo de caso múltiplo, a coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os resultados foram apurados com análise de conteúdo. Originalidade/ Relevância: A pesquisa realizada pretende suprir a carência de investigações sobre a compreensão da participação dos atores e dos fatores envolvidos no processo de transferência de conhecimento. Resultados: Os principais resultados revelaram que, a colaboração entre os atores se relaciona com a transferência de conhecimento por meio da criação e ampliação das parcerias estabelecidas e da gestão do conhecimento que emerge dessas relações. Contribuições teóricas: A principal contribuição teórica do trabalho é a proposição do modelo conceitual que permite comparar os casos estudados conforme critérios definidos na revisão de literatura. Contribuições gerenciais: A contribuição prática do estudo, é a identificação de aspectos fundamentais para aprimorar a relação de colaboração entre os atores do ecossistema de inovação e da transferência de conhecimento.
