Research Progress of Resveratrol in Oral Cancer

Abstract

Resveratrol (Res) is a natural polyphenol compound with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-tumor, neuroprotective and cardiovascular protective effects. Oral cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the head and neck. Despite the continuous development of treatment technology, the 5-year survival rate of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma is still low. Research has found that resveratrol has a certain therapeutic effect on oral cancer, which can not only inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells, induce autophagy and apoptosis of cancer cells, but also hinder the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. In this paper, the research progress of resveratrol on oral cancer is reviewed in order to provide theoretical basis for the further development and application of resveratrol as a representative of polyphenols.
