“…However, while this relationship has been mentioned in some formal studies, it has not yet been empirically confirmed [36]. Running contrary to general opinion, Nunkoo and So's [10] research could not find proof for the relationship between residents' satisfaction with their quality of life and their support of tourism.…”

“…Following the lessons learned from previous research in tourism development, it is clear that, for success and sustainable growth, support of the host community is paramount (Mair, 2015). Furthermore, the literature shows that although the role of members of the host community in tourism development is central, it can also be complex and multidimensional (Andereck et al, 2005;Lee, 2013;Mair, 2015;Liang & Hui, 2016;Lin et al, 2017;Stylidis et al, 2017). Thus, this research sought a methodology that would involve community members as key allies in terms of crafting, shaping and discovering the issues and attitudes relevant to tourism experiences as well as identifying the barriers and enablers of tourism development in their communities.…”

“…The literature relating to tourism led economic development concepts from other parts of the world suggests three main approaches to classifying and measuring resident's perception of tourism impacts (Lee, 2013;Liang & Hui, 2016;Lin et al, 2017;Stylidis et al, 2017). These are a costs-benefits approach (Lee, 2013) where residents are asked to classify a range of potential impacts of tourism development as either positive (benefit) or negative (cost); the domain related costs-benefits approach asks residents to rate not only the nature of the impact (positive or negative) but also to indicate their judgement of the relevant domain of the impact (economic, social or environmental) (Gursoy & Rutherford, 2004), and the non-forced approach, which allows residents to indicate not only the potential impacts that are top of mind for them (unsolicited) but also to comment on their perception of directionality (positive or negative) of those impacts in the various domains (Andereck et al, 2005).…”

“…Turizmin geliştiği ülkelerde temel amaç, yöre halkının yaşam kalitesini artırmaktır (Liang ve Hui 2016). Turizm sektörünün, toplumun arzuladığı yaşam koşullarına sahip olmasına katkıda bulunma, kolaylaştırma rolü olabileceği savunulmaktadır (Andereck vd.…”
