[21,22,25] To obtain the BVID size of the order of magnitude of 5 mm diameter on the laminate surface, the loading regime involved a preload of 200 N at a displacement rate of 1 mm/min; subsequently the indenter was driven at 1.25 mm/min corresponded to an energy absorbed (estimated by calculating the area under the loaddisplacement curve) of 3.5 and 12 J to damage the 16-and 24-ply laminates, respectively.
