Resistance investigation of wheat bran polyphenols extracts on HEK293 cells against oxidative damage

Abstract: Oxidative stress has been considered as a major cause of cellular injury in a variety of clinical abnormalities. One of popular methods to inhibit reactive-oxygen-species (ROS)-induced cellular injury is dietary or pharmaceutical augmentation of the endogenous antioxidant defense capacity. In this study, the resistance effects of wheat bran polyphenols extracts (WBPE) against H 2 O 2 -induced cytotoxicity in HEK293 cells were investigated. The phenolic components of WBPE were analysed using UPLC/TQD, and the p… Show more

“…However, cells pre-incubated with LFs showed mitigated morphological changes. Observed results 20 Under nuclear uorochrome staining, serious chromatin condensation or nuclear fragmentation, which was noted in the H 2 O 2 -treated HEK-293 cells, were observed to be similar to the work of Bian et al 15 However, LFs exerted protective effects against such changes.…”

In our previous experiments, cell viability was signicantly decreased in timeand dose-dependent manners upon treatment with H 2 O 2 .…”

“…Clinically, oxidative stress injuries are associated with the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, aging and inammatory disease (Alshammari et al., 2018; Bian et al., 2015). Oxidative stress is caused by the large production of reactive oxygen species, which disturbs the balance of the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidant defenses, and results in macromolecular damage, toxic accumulation, and disruption of intracellular environment (Gill & Tuteja, 2010; Pizzino et al., 2017).…”

“…Oxidative stress triggers extensive cellular and tissular damage throughout the whole body and further results in compromised immune system, inflammatory reactions, and the neuronal damage (Fischer & Maier, 2015). Fortunately, numerous studies have found that one of popular methods to relieve oxidative stress is dietary or pharmaceutical of the endogenous defense capacity (Adkins et al., 2017; Bian et al., 2015). Diets supplementation with high level of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA; 22:6; n‐3) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA; 18; n‐6) could reduce inflammation and the incidence of chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease and non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) (Duckett et al., 2019; Qureshi et al., 2016; Shen et al., 2018; Zakariapour et al., 2018).…”

“…The biological antioxidant enzyme system in our body, including CAT, SOD, GSH-Px, play crucial roles in scavenging ROS levels and reducing oxidative damage (Bian et al 2015). Antioxidant enzymes levels are mainly used as an indicator of cell damage, elevated antioxidant enzymes levels usually indicate certain extent cell damage.…”
