“…The trace element content was highly correlated with the numbers of fine particles (size < 0.02 mm), which determine the sorption capacity and also the mobility and availability of heavy metals to plants (Kabata‐Pendias & Pendias, 2010). Furthermore, they determine the amounts of ions in solution and the electrical charge density on the surface of the solid constituents of the soil, which significantly decreases the electrical resistivity (Anterrieu et al, 2010; Fukue et al, 2006). That is why the total concentration of trace elements in our study was highly correlated with the content of clay and silt (r = 0.91; OM = 0.72), which accumulate trace elements, and with CEC (= 0.65), which is related to the sorption and desorption of trace elements.…”
