Resonance in Interacting Induced-Dipole Polarizing Force Fields: Application to Force-Field Derivatives

Abstract: Abstract:The Silberstein model of the molecular polarizability of diatomic molecules, generalized by Applequist et al. for polyatomic molecules, is analyzed. The atoms are regarded as isotropically polarizable points located at their nuclei, interacting via the fields of their induced dipoles. The use of additive values for atom polarizabilities gives poor results, in some cases leading to artificial predictions of absorption bands. The molecular polarizability of methane and its derivative are computed. The a… Show more

“…4 Polarizability offers numerous applications regarding bond energy and chemical reactions. 5 Nagle 6 studied how atomic polarizability can be used in conjunction with the number of s and p valence electrons. A semi-empirical method has been reported by Miller 7 to compute the components of molecular polarizability along with the dipole tensor.…”

“…In earlier publications, fractal hybrid-orbital analysis [4,5], resonance [6], molecular diversity [7], PTE [8], law, property, information entropy, molecular classification [9] and simulators [10] were reviewed. In the present report, Qs were raised on the nature of nanominiaturization cultural history and provide facts.…”

“…In this group Valero Molina reported PTE and its relationship with daily life [22]. Earlier publications presented empirical didactics [23][24][25], resonance in interacting induced-dipole polarizing force fields [26], its implementation in chemical education [27] and tool for macromolecular-structure interrogation/retrieval [28]. The objective of the present report is to present a teaching module based on inquiry-based learning for a methodological approximation to PTE study.…”
