Abstract:We present results of the numerical simulation performed to study the properties of electrictype eigenmodes in an open resonator with spherical mirrors and a perfectly conducting spherical inclusion. The effect of a resonance increase in the Q-factors of the eigenmodes by several orders of magnitude, which is due to placing a perfectly conducting sphere of certain radius in the open resonator, is found and studied. The nature of the effect of a resonance increase in the Q-factors of eigenmodes is established.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
