Resonance-reggeon and parton-hadron duality in strong interactions

Abstract: Abstract. By using the concept of duality between direct channel resonances and Regge exchanges we relate the small-and large-x behavior of the structure functions. We show that even a single resonance exhibits Bjorken scaling at large Q 2 .

“…Measurements in the Coulomb-nuclear interference (CNI) region, −t ∼ 6.5 · 10 −4 GeV 2 , Θ min ∼ 3.5 µrad, (note that at SPS Θ min ∼ 120 µrad) will be be used to extract the value of the parameter ρ The extracted value of ρ may be affected by at least two phenomena. One is connected with the well known corrections [77] to the Coulomb-hadron phase [78] and the other one with the non-exponential behavior of the diffraction cone, known as the "fine structure of the Pomeron trajectory" [23][24][25][39][40][41][42]. “…The unification of the asymptotic solutions is an ambitious goal of the theory, and duality may play here an important role, as shown in the "Road map" of Ref. [12] and in Fig. 3.…”
