Resonance Scattering of Nickel CaptureγRays from a Natural Tellurium Target

Abstract: The complex spectrum of resonantly scattered nickel neutron-capture y rays from a natural tellurium target is shown to be predominantly associated with transitions from a 7.538-MeV excited level in 180 Te to several low-lying levels. The experiments were performed at a tangential-beam-tube facility of the IRR-2 reactor, using a nickel source placed adjacent to the reactor core.
