“…The multiple cropping system increases crop diversity, makes full use of limited soil resources, to a certain extent alleviates the shortage of cultivated land resources in agricultural production, and also guarantees food security (Yang et al, 2015 ; Xu et al, 2019b ). Tobacco-rice multiple cropping rotation, that is, planting tobacco in spring and rice in autumn on the same farmland, is one of the main double-cropping systems in southern China (Hu et al, 2021 ). It not only ensures crop security production but also improves the income of farmers and effectively alleviates the social problems of rural laborers moving to cities and no production activities in cultivated land due to insufficient income (Xu et al, 2019a ).…”

“…Long-time conventional rotary tillage in shallow layer have generated increasingly serious soil degradation problem to agriculture industry ( Hou et al, 2012 ), which increased soil bulk density in deep soil layer and decreased plant availability to soil fertility and water ( Hu et al, 2021 ). Intermittent deep vertical rotary tillage (IDT) was tried creatively to address this issue in Chinese agriculture ( Schneider et al, 2017 ).…”

“…Although under very low nutrient concentrations, the AMF pathway enabled plants to obtain nutrients by increasing the absorption surface area, when the nutrient utilization rate was high, the host would reduce their dependence on the nutrients obtained by AMF from the soil, and the pathway of direct root absorption was more effective. Subsoiling can increase the content of SOC (Feng et al 2020), increase the stability of soil aggregates (Hu et al 2021), and increase the content of AP and AK in the soil (Guo et al 2016), improve the chemical properties of the soil and improve the fertility of the soil. The results of soil nutrient testing in this study show that the contents of AP and AK in the 10~40cm soil layer are also significantly higher than those under conventional rotary tillage.…”
