Responses of soil fauna community under changing environmental conditions

Ayijiamali Kudureti,
Shuai Zhao,
Dina Zhakyp
et al.

Abstract: Soil faunas account for 23% of known animal species and play a crucial role in ecosystem processes such as mineralizing nutrients, regulating microbial community composition, forming soil aggregates, and enhancing primary productivity. However, due to global climate change, population density, community composition, and distribution patterns of soil fauna vary. Understanding the responses of soil fauna to major environmental change facilitate the conservation of biodiversity. Therefore, a review work of recent… Show more

“…Bulb mites, being subterranean organisms reliant on soil, can experience direct or indirect effects of soil composition on their physiology. Soil properties can affect plant diversity and soil fauna indirectly (Kudureti et al 2023 ). Indeed, evidence for soil properties differentially affecting fitness of multiple mite species have already been observed.…”

“…Las transformaciones antropogénicas del paisaje aumentaron las superficies de las tierras agrícolas a expensas de los ecosistemas naturales. Aumentaron las provisiones para los cultivos y la madera a expensas del suministro de pescado y la reducción de la ganadería (Kudureti et al, 2023;Racoviceanu et al, 2023).…”
