“…The sample of the present study consists of rather young people with HIV infection recruited from an outpatient infectious disease clinic, which may explain their high level of education, a factor that limits the generalizability of our results. Indeed, the level of education in our patient group is slightly higher than in other clinical groups in Chile (Musa et al 2017 ; Slachevsky et al 2019 ) but corresponds to that of HIV+ patients from the same outpatient infectious disease clinic (Ceballos et al 2016 ). Moreover, the recruitment of our patients may also have contributed to the rather high percentage of patients with HAND of 56%, which is, nevertheless, in the range reported in other studies (Saloner and Cysique 2017 ; Smith and Sacktor 2014 ).…”
