Abstract: The scores obtained by subjects in G2 submitted to the hearing rehabilitation in the variables competitive right and left non-competitive show especially the improvement on the left hemisphere, due to auditory training. For further evidence of differences between the results of qualitative aspects, a longer period of time would possibly be required in order for changes in auditory perception to occur associated with other sensory functions.

“…Concerning the results of the second evaluation of auditory processing, there was significant relationship for both groups regarding the use of hearing aid for the control group and the use of the hearing aid, associated to hearing/speech therapy, for the experimental group. The same result was found in a study that evaluated the effects of auditory rehabilitation through the analysis of the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the Alternate disylables dichotic test (SSW) in elderly new users of hearing aids (20). In another study, the performance of elderly people in behavioral tests was evaluated at the delivery of the hearing aid, after a month of use of the device, and after the auditory training.…”

“…Age-related hearing loss (ARHL) is associated with communication disabilities (Dalton et al 2003) and cognitive decline (Lin et al 2013). Studies on participants 60-84 years of age, suggest that older persons are likely to benefit not only from the fitting of hearing aids but also from comprehensive aural rehabilitation, including communication strategies (Hennig et al 2012;Lessa et al 2013).…”
