Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta in a Normovolemic Rabbit Model: a Pilot Study

Abstract: Background: The purpose of this study was to verify physiological, end-organ and systemic inflammatory changes in zone II after resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) in a normovolemic rabbit model.Methods: Anaesthetized rabbits were subjected to aortic balloon occlusion for different times (15 min, 30 min, 60 min and 90 min) followed by 2 h of reperfusion.
