“…Alternatively, farmers can adopt the Organic certification scheme, in which case the factory would pay them a higher price for their high quality standard produce, process the tea, and sell the certified produce to top-price overseas markets. Farmers who adopted the high quality standard tended to receive higher prices but also had higher costs than those who continued to produce using the low quality standard (Mohan 2016).
