“…The authors conclude that institutional quality is a leading factor that enhances renewable energy consumption, whereas financial development reduces it. Gailing and Moss ( 2016 ) and Moslehpour et al ( 2022c ) also find that institutions play a major role in the energy transition. Wu and Broadstock ( 2015 ) scrutinize dynamic panel data for 22 developing economies and conclude that institutional quality affects clean energy consumption positively.…”

“…The negative association of RE consumption and energy import with carbon emissions is also the reflection of prior evidences as prior studies argued that where there is increasing use of RE in households and business procedures, CO 2 is reduced and increasing RE consumption does not create waste and smoke, so it is less likely to create CO 2 emissions (Haldar and Sethi, 2021;Sahoo and Sahoo, 2022). Also, the countries which open the ways for firms or individuals to attain energy resources from foreign countries, the clean energy import discourages the use of coal, oil, natural gas, ore, or nuclear power and therefore, the CO 2 emissions are minimal (Moslehpour et al, 2023) from abroad enables the country to reduce CO 2 emissions and their impacts on the environment. The results also showed that population growth shares negative relation with CO 2 emissions.…”
