RETRACTED ARTICLE: Treatment for lumbar spinal stenosis secondary to ligamentum flavum hypertrophy using percutaneous endoscopy through interlaminar approach: a retrospective study

Abstract: Background: This paper is to describe percutaneous endoscopy in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis secondary to ligamentum flavum hypertrophy targeted and to investigate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous endoscopy in the treatment of this kind of lumbar spinal stenosis in elderly patients. Method: A retrospective analysis of 40 elderly patients with lumbar spinal stenosis secondary to ligamentum flavum hypertrophy admitted between January 2016 and January 2018 was performed. “…To date, there is no particularly effective conservative treatment delaying or reversing the progression of HLF/OLF but surgical decompression. However, procedural risks and postoperative complications are very prominent (Hou et al, 2018;Liu Y. et al, 2020). MiRNAs are endogenous and multifunctional small molecules with numerous regulatory functions in various biological processes, and miRNA-based treatment methods present great potential for multiple diseases, such as cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune diseases.…”

“…Percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PTED) is initially used for treating lumbar disc herniation(LDH), but its usage has expanded to include the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis(LSS) due to its capability to enlarge the spinal canal [2.3]. Many previous reports have con rmed that PETD has advantages in the treatment of LSS [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Nonetheless, PETD for LDH may have a steep learning curve for beginners [7].…”
