RETRACTED: The Heart of Silk Road “Xinjiang,” Its Genetic Portray, and Forensic Parameters Inferred From Autosomal STRs

Abstract: The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China (XUARC) harbors almost 50 ethnic groups including the Uyghur (UGR: 45.84%), Han (HAN: 40.48%), Kazakh (KZK: 6.50%), Hui (HUI: 4.51%), Kyrgyz (KGZ: 0.86%), Mongol (MGL: 0.81%), Manchu (MCH: 0.11%), and Uzbek (UZK: 0.066%), which make it one of the most colorful regions with abundant cultural and genetic diversities. In our previous study, we established allelic frequency databases for 14 autosomal short tandem repeats (STRs) for four minority populations from XUARC… Show more

“…Many previous studies have suggested extensive genetic admixture between East and West Eurasians in northwest China (Ning et al, 2019; Wang et al, 2019, 2021; Adnan et al, 2020, 2021; Wen et al, 2020; Zhao et al, 2020; He et al, 2021; Ma et al, 2021; Yang et al, 2021; Yao et al, 2021; Zhang et al, 2021), but a few focus on Tajiks. A 2018 paper by Min‐Sheng Peng et al used mitochondrial genome analysis to understand the maternal origin of multiple ethnic groups on the Pamir Plateau.…”
