Retrospective Evaluation of Anesthesia Techniques for Hip Replacement Operations

Abstract: Objective: In this retrospective study, we evaluated the demographic characteristics of patients that underwent hip replacement surgery in our orthopedic clinic. Associated diseases, preoperative laboratory findings, intraoperative findings, and the effect of admission or refusal to the intensive care unit on postoperative mortality and morbidity were recorded. Furthermore, we tried to identify surgical and anaesthetic methods applied, intraoperative hemodynamic changes, length of stay in the post-anaesthesia … Show more

“…In this study, we included the following covariables, which can be summarized as follows :(1) Demographic data; (2) Variables that can affect hemodynamic changes reported in previous literature; (3) According to our clinical experience. Therefore, the following variables were used to construct a fully adjusted model :(1) continuous variables: age, baseline systolic blood pressure, baseline diastolic blood pressure, and baseline heart rate (obtained at baseline); (2) Classi cation variables: gender, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, central nervous system disease.…”
