Abstract:The mechanical properties and crack propagation behavior of aluminum alloys, both with and without corroded surfaces, were thoroughly investigated through molecular dynamic (MD) simulations. The study delved into the effects of corrosion depth and width on the mechanical properties of corroded aluminum alloys. It was found that as the corrosion depth increases, the yield strength experiences an initial decrease followed by a subsequent increase. This can be attributed to the impact of increased corrosion depth… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
