Review of Application and Research Based on Cold Spray Coating Materials

Abstract: Cold spray technology is an advanced spray technology, and its technical principle is the same as that of additive manufacturing technology. Cold spraying technology combines multiple advantages in the spraying field: not only can the deposition of thick coatings be achieved, but the coatings prepared by this technology have the characteristics of high density, low oxygen content, good mechanical properties of the coating surface, and high deposition efficiency. Cold spraying technology can prepare corrosion-r… Show more

“…In cold spray technology, many parameters affect the velocity of particles in the nozzle, which are roughly divided into structural and technical parameters; technical parameters are mainly parameters of the Laval nozzle structure. Tan summarized the technical parameters and their impact on cold spray technology [1,2].…”

“…Staying in theme of engineering materials, during the last decades, niobium (Nb) and its alloys are getting growing attention due to some intriguing properties: high room temperature ductility and melting temperature, exceptional strength at high temperatures and low thermal neutron absorption cross section; moreover, Nb exhibits the lowest density in the family of refractory materials [9]. What is more, Nb shows, among the superconductive elements, both the highest lower critical magnetic field (HC1) [10] and superconducting transition temperature [11], as well as a high normal state thermal conductivity [12].…”
