Review of development and application of bidirectional LLC converter

Abstract

Bidirectional LLC converters have good application scenarios because the advantages of LLC can be applied to bidirectional DC-DC converters. In this paper, the technical development and application scenarios of the bidirectional LLC converter are introduced and prospected. Firstly, the background of the LLC resonant circuit and bidirectional DC-DC converter is introduced, and then several main application scenarios of the bidirectional LLC converter and their characteristics are summarized. On this basis, the topologies of several main bidirectional LLC resonant circuits are introduced, and their control strategies are analyzed, and their respective advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Finally, the content mentioned in the paper is summarized and future development has prospected. With the development of new energy technologies, the large-scale application of bidirectional LLC converters should be expected.
