Abstract:The manuscript introduces and discusses the strength and weaknesses of three approaches commonly applied to analyze compound flooding in estuaries. The approaches are demonstrated in the Swan River system in Western Australia where some of the discussed advantage and disadvantages manifest. The manuscript is informative, topical, and generally well written.
