“…The Ettling quarry is a relatively new locality well known for yielding abundant and exceptionally well preserved fossil fish specimens representing a variety of taxonomic groups (Arratia, 1997;Ebert and K€ olbl-Ebert, 2008, 2010Brito and Ebert, 2009;Arratia and Tischlinger, 2010;Konwert, 2011;Lane and Ebert, 2012;Schr€ oder et al, 2012;Ebert et al, submitted). Additional actinopterygian fish taxa found at Ettling include other halecomorphs (i.e., 'Furo' muensteri, Amiopsis lepidota, and an unidentified ionoscopid), semionotiforms, pycnodontiforms, aspidorynchiforms, Pleuropholis (and other 'pholidophoriforms'), and numerous crown teleosts.…”

“…These fish have some similarities with the genus Furo found in Solnhofen, Germany, and other European localities. A revision of Furo FROM TALBRAGAR AND KOONWARRA, EASTERN AUSTRALIA muensteri by Lane and Ebert (2012) has indicated that the genus Furo and its family Ophiopsidae need revision, so the large fish found at Talbragar will need to be described and named. Turner and Avery (2017) have published a description of the first-known Jurassic chondrichthyan ('shark') from Australasia.…”
