“…For many years, the species was not differentiated from P. geranii-sylvatici, infecting primarily Geranium sylvaticum (Constantinescu 2004). However, it turned out to be a frequent species, especially in Northern Europe (Sweden, Norway, Finland), Northern Russia, in the mountainous regions in Central Europe (Switzerland, Austria) as well as in Romania (Southern Carpathians) (Voglmayr et al 2006). The fungus was also very likely to occur in the Tatra Mts (Western Carpathians), and a revision of the herbarium material confirmed the occurrence of P. praetermissa in the area.…”
