“…This datum could confirm the hypothesis that rhabdoid meningioma has a relatively less aggressive behavior in children. 12 On the other hand, the present case showed alterations in the p53 protein and TP53 gene (p53 over-expression and TP53 alteration -Pro72Arg variation allele). The p53 has been shown to be an important protein, associated with cell cycle control, cell differentiation, maintenance of genomic stability, senescence and apoptosis. Therefore, its inactivation is generally regarded as an ominous feature in many tumors.…”

“…In fact, in the group of 11 juvenile reported rhabdoid meningiomas, there was only one recurrence (4 months after the surgery) and one death (25 years after the surgery). [7][8][9][10][11][12] Nevertheless, the small number of reported pediatric rhabdoid meningiomas makes conclusive prognostic remarks difficult.…”

“…The ratio of male‐to‐female incidence is 40:35, and the age distribution ranges from 2 to 84 years in previous reports with detailed data. To date 110 cases of RM in 40 articles have been reported . The most common locations were convexity (25 of 74), anterior or middle cranial fossa (10 of 74), posterior cranial fossa (13 of 74) and falx or parasagittal sinus (16 of 74).…”

“…In 2000, RM was classifi ed as a new subtype of meningioma by the Nervous System Classifi cation of WHO, and was graded as Stage III in the WHO classifi cation of tumors. To date, dozens of cases of RM have been reported overseas [1][2][3][4][5] and about 10 cases have been reported in China [4][5][6] . Correct pathologic diagnosis is signifi cant to clinical practice since the disease is rare, has a high malignant potential and poor prognosis.…”
