Rheology of Polymer–Carbon Nanotube Composites

Abstract

The rheological behavior of nanocomposite systems is of interest because of its importance in processing and as a tool for characterizing structure, morphology, and filler dispersion when used along with other techniques. This article deals with rheological characteristics of polymer nanocomposites based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs). First part of this article provides a brief idea about basics of rheology, various rheological measurements, and different types of rheometers. Second part is fully dedicated to rheological characteristics of CNT‐based polymer nanocomposites, which includes electrorheology, chemorheology, factors affecting rheological characteristics in multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/polymer nanocomposites and finally application of rheological measurements in MWCNT/polymer nanocomposites.
