If medical information of persons with spinal cord injuries is seen more as a useful component of medical care with high responsibility than an inconvenient duty, it can be an important contribution toward rehabilitation. Based upon psychological principles of communication, practical experience and the outcome of the specialized literature, it is possible to show concrete conditions for competent medical conversation in case of delivering bad news. Taking into consideration the suggested behavioural rules that describe how to proceed the informing can become a fruitful element in relationship between medical doctor and patient.
