Right-handed Dirac neutrinos in ν e– scattering and azimuthal asymmetry in recoil electron event rates

Abstract: In this paper a scenario with the participation of the exotic scalar S, tensor T and pseudoscalar P couplings of the right-handed neutrinos in addition to the standard vector V, axial A couplings of the left-handed neutrinos in the low-energy (νµe − ) and (νee − ) scattering processes is considered. Neutrinos are assumed to be massive Dirac fermions and to be polarized. Both reactions are studied at the level of the fourfermion point interaction. The main goal is to show that the physical consequence of the pr… Show more

“…In order to illustrate the possibility of producing the ν e beam with the non-zero transversal spin polarization, we refer to the ref. [64], where the muon capture by proton as the production process of L-R chiral superposition has been considered. In the next studies, the other sources are going to be analyzed.…”

“…[108], where the muon capture by proton as the production process of leftright chiral superposition has been considered. The formula for the longitudinal component of the ν polarisation contains the terms from the LCh ν's produced in the V − A interaction and RCh ones generated in the exotic (S, T, P) R interactions.…”

“…This in general would modify the dependence of the event number on the exotic couplings and would introduce new ones (cf. [108]) enlarging the number of degrees of freedom. This issue requires thorough follow-up studies.…”

“…As an example of process in which the transversal ν polarization may be produced, we refer to the ref. [86], where the muon capture by proton has been considered. The amplitude for the ν e e − scattering in low energy region is of the form:…”
