Abstract:Abstractmyo‐inositol, a naturally occurring cyclic hexaol, was converted into conformationally constrained diols 4 bearing two adamantane‐like components in the molecule. For the synthesis of 4, an orthoester derivative of myo‐inositol bearing an adamantane‐like rigid structure on which three hydroxyl groups were attached was used as the precursor.
