Ring‐Closing Metathesis of 2,2‐Diallyl Derivatives of Pyrrolidine and Piperidine: A Route to Azaspiroheterocyclic Structures.

2002 metathesis reactions metathesis reactions O 0286 -061Ring-Closing Metathesis of 2,2-Diallyl Derivatives of Pyrrolidine and Piperidine: A Route to Azaspiroheterocyclic Structures.-Diallylderivatives of pyrrolidine and piperidine, (I) and (III), are transformed into the corresponding spiroheterocyclic compounds by ring-closing metathesis using homogenous catalytic systems. Metathesis products (II) and (IV) are only obtained from compounds bearing a protective group at the nitrogen atom. The systems containing H 2 SiPh 2 as the cocatalyst allow to perform the metathesis in moderate yields and with high selectivities.
