RIS-Aided Physical Layer Security With Full-Duplex Jamming in Underlay D2D Networks

Abstract: This paper investigates the physical layer security and data transmission for the underlay device-to-device (D2D) networks, and considers a combination of the reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) and full-duplex (FD) jamming receiver for the robustness and security enhancements of the system. In the demonstrated spectrum sharing setup, the total power of the D2D networks is conceived to the transmitter and receiver to transmit a private message and emit the artificial noise (AN) signals. To prevent informa… Show more

“…In addition to applications in single antenna systems, IRS can be used to enhance the performance of multi-antenna systems such as MIMO [20]. What's more, IRS can be designed to improve the capacity in short-range scenarios, such as D2D and cell-free massive MIMO systems [21]. It is unnecessary to introduce reflected equipment to forward useful signals for a D2D pair when the direct path between a D2D transmitter and a D2D receiver is available.…”

“…Recently, AN or jamming has been introduced into new RIS-aided network setups. The authors in [87], examined the integration of RIS and full-duplex jamming receivers in underlay device-to-device (D2D) systems. The authors derived novel approximate expressions of the proposed system achievable ergodic SR.…”

“…The authors of [11] explored the block coordinate descent method to optimize delays in IRS-assisted MEC systems. The authors of [16] studied the physical layer security and data transmission of IRS-assisted D2D networks. The authors of [17] studied the IRS-assisted D2D wireless communication system, using IRS to regulate its reflecting components to enhance the data transmission of D2D communication.…”

“…The literature [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18] mentioned above did not consider the influence of imperfect CSI on transmission design. Because of the inevitable channel estimation errors, simply treating channels as perfect ones in the analysis process will lead to the loss of system performance.…”
