“…Methoxychlor is an alternative for p,p′-DDT and had been increasingly used from the 1970s (Oh, 2009) until being banned in Europe (2002) and the United States (2003) (Neves et al, 2018). However, methoxychlor can still be detected in some provinces of China, southeastern Asia, and South Africa (Luo et al, 2016;Neves et al, 2018;Zeng et al, 2018). Methoxychlor has been well studied in snow, ice core, air, freshwater, and biota bodies but rarely in seawater (Hoferkamp et al, 2010).…”

“…Other four types of POPs were all undetected in the water reuse system. Although China has forbidden the usage of HCHs and DDT for over 30 years, they are still detected in different media (Jiang et al, 2009;Qadeer et al, 2019) with low concentrations of 0.004-62.84 ng/L and 0.003-248.45 ng/L (Hu et al, 2014;Montuori et al, 2016;Zeng et al, 2018), respectively. The concentration of HCHs detected met the standards for drinking water quality in China (5 μg/L) (The Ministry of Health, China, 2006).…”

“…The highest RQ values of the antibiotics were selected to perform a conservative risk assessment (Figure 7a). The range and average RQ values of the nine antibiotics detected in the Cheongmi Stream watershed were 1.3 × 10 −5 -2.3, and 0.356, respectively, and these could be further classified as low (RQ < 0.1), medium (0.1 < RQ < 1), and high risk (RQ > 1) [44][45][46]. The RQ values of six of the ten antibiotics were considered low risk (<0.1); however, the RQs for SMZ, SMX, and TMP were relatively high, peaking in the spring and reaching its minimum value in the summer, likely resulting from the seasonal variations in the environmental concentrations of the antibiotics.…”
