Risk Assessment of Oil and Gas Pipeline Based on Vague Set-Weighted Set Pair Analysis Method

Abstract: This study focuses on a risk assessment method for oil and gas pipelines. Oil and gas pipelines are usually constructed in a complex geological environment and are potentially dangerous. Risk assessment is a key step for their safety management. Therefore, the present paper establishes a risk indicator system as the risk assessment foundation, and we propose a risk assessment method to obtain a quantitative assessment result for the pipeline based on set pair analysis (SPA) theory. For the weight values of eac… Show more

“…This approach allows you to form a pool of decision-making and importance assessment tasks, which can be used ready-made not only by specialists. This greatly simplifies the complexity of solving the problems of evaluating PLS objects while maintaining sufficient reliability of the results and is an advantage of this study in contrast to the methods presented in [10,11]. In addition, this eliminates the duplication of assessment stages and the degree of subjectivity in the problems of forming importance vectors of evaluation criteria.…”

“…Risk assessment for oil and gas pipelines is considered in [11], which proposes to use a quantitative risk assessment based on the theory of set pair analysis. To determine the weight coefficients of the assessment criteria, the work presents a calculation method based on fuzzy set theory.…”

“…A fundamental aspect of decision making for evaluating new oil and gas field development projects is to determine a set of indicators that can effectively capture various project characteristics. Currently, scholars have adopted methods such as principal component analysis, comparative analysis, fuzzy logic, and grey system theory to evaluate indicators in aspects such as oil and gas reservoir quality [1], economic value [2], and risk [3][4][5].…”
