Risk factors for lipid disorders in systemic lupus erythematosus

Abstract: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is one of the autoimmune diseases of the connective tissue system with multi-organ involvement. Dyslipidemia in SLE results from the increased risk of cardiovascular diseases typical in the general population. Still, it is exacerbated by inflammation and medications (particularly glucocorticosteroids).
