RNA-Sequencing and Bioinformatics Analysis of Exosomal Long Noncoding RNAs Revealed a Novel ceRNA Network in Stable COPD

Shan Lin,
Caihong Liu,
Jingting Sun
et al.

Abstract: Exosomes are able to exchange their bioactive RNA cargo to recipient cells. In COPD, exosomes can be controlled and engineered for its use as targeted diagnostic and therapeutic tool. Our study explored novel lncRNAs and mRNAs in plasma exosomes that could be involved in the pathogenesis of COPD. Methods: High-throughput sequencing was conducted to detect the alterations in the expression of exosomal lncRNAs and mRNAs. Gene ontology (GO) functional analyses and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pa… Show more

“…In recent years, next generation sequencing (NGS) technology has been applied to the research on various bioinformatics, which can screen and identify genes and signalizing pathways of various diseases [1920]. NGS is an emerging molecular biology technology based on a high-throughput platform, which is widely used in COPD [21]. Aberrant expression of genes plays an essential role in the initiation and progression of COPD, so mastering the modification in the characteristics of essential genes promotes to comprehensively understand COPD progression and screen related molecular markers [22].…”
