RNAi of ace1 and ace2 in Blattella germanica reveals their differential contribution to acetylcholinesterase activity and sensitivity to insecticides

In Blattella germanica, specific interference of Bgace1 and Bgace2 genes demonstrates that BgAChE1 is responsible for at least 65e75% of the total AChE activity detected in nerve tissues, and specific interference of Bgace1 produces an increased mortality in insects when treated with insecticides that is not produced after specific interference of Bgace2 (Revuelta et al, 2009).
