Robust geometric, phase and colour structured light projection system calibration

Abstract: This paper introduces a new comprehensive procedure for both geometric and colour calibration of structured light system. In order to perform both geometric and colour calibration procedure, a new calibration artifact is proposed. The intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of projector and camera are estimated by using an extended pinhole camera model with a tangential and radial distortion. Camera image plane coordinates are obtained by extracting features from images of a calibration artifact. Projector image pl… Show more

“…Key aspect 2 is implemented using the PrM. All the visual information rendered by a graphics card using the segmented medical data and recalculated using MARVIS is projected onto the destination phantom surface by the PrM projector, which is calibrated as the inverse pinhole camera [29]. More details on the projection system are provided in Section 2.9.…”

“…First, the PhTM must be calibrated to estimate the internal and external parameters of the projector in the PrM and the camera in the PhTM, using the pinhole method proposed in Ref. [29]. The same algorithm and calibration pattern are used to calibrate the pair of stereo cameras (HdTC 1 and HdTC 2 ) in the HdTM.…”

“…It is also worth mentioning that the pinhole geometric procedure is possible with only two artifact positions, as described in Ref. 44. • Calculate the camera parameters Zhang's procedure with radial and tangential distortion is used.…”
