Abstract:INTROduCTIONPancreatic carcinoma remains one of the leading causes of cancer -related deaths in the world. In the years from 2000 to 2009, the incidence rate in the United States increased by 0.9% per year and the death rate increased by 0.5% per year.1 The overall 5 -year survival rate reported worldwide does not exceed 5%.
