Role of Cancer Directed Approach During Emergency Surgery; Adenocarcinoma of the Jejunum Presenting as Intestinal Obstruction: A Case Report

Abstract: Although small intestine makes up for most of the length of the gut, and constitutes it's maximum absorptive area of the intestine, the tumors of small gut are rare. Further the malignant neoplasms of the small gut are even rare. Adenocarcinomas of the jejunum present with nonspecific symptoms like intestinal obstruction or upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding and are difficult to diagnose preoperatively.Only cancer directed approach at the time of surgery can effectively improve the outcome of the patient.
