Abstract:Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a clinical syndrome ensuing infection-induced inflammation of the upper reproductive tract in females. It is mostly characterized by chronic pelvic pain and can lead to severe outcomes like tubal-factor infertility or ectopic pregnancy.
