Abstract: Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) is a condition in which the amount of secreted pancreatic enzymes is insufficient to maintain normal digestion. EPI is a frequent complication of pancreatic or other malignancies. The presence of EPI in a cancer patient may be suggested by symptoms of maldigestion, malabsorption, and alteration of nutritional markers; however, it is important to note that the EPI symptoms may be subtle.
