Abstract:We comparatively study electron rotational asymmetries in photoionization of the excited hydrogen atom and photodetachment of the fluorine anion in single circularly polarized laser fields by numerically solving the three-dimensional time-dependent Schrödinger equation (3D-TDSE). We first show that single-photon ionization (or detachment) is more favored for the electron initially corotates with respect to the direction of the laser field. More interestingly, we systematically demonstrate the electron rotation… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
