“…Lacunar Hodgkin/RS cells have been described in imprint cytology as multilobated cells with fine chromatin, multiple small‐ to medium‐sized nucleoli, and abundant vacuolated cytoplasm . Jogai et al also described lacunar cells in cases of NSCHL. RS cells are 20 to 30 µm in diameter with a binucleate or bilobed nucleus, a prominent eosinophilic nucleolus giving an owl‐eye appearance, and basophilic cytoplasm.…”

“…The sampling error is a particular hazard in Hodgkin lymphoma nodular sclerosis subtype possibly because of the fibrosis that interferes with the cell yield [27]. However, sampling error is uncommon in actual practice because varying the angle of entry of the aspirated needle with each pass usually adequately samples the majority of enlarged lymph nodes [2].…”

“…In this review article, 22 difficulty in diagnosis of nodular sclerosis (NS) variant has been ascribed to the paucity or absence of fibrocollagenous bands in FNA material and nonrecognition of cytologic counterpart of lacunar type R-S cells. According to Jogai et al 23 also, nodular sclerosis variant of HL poses the greatest diagnostic difficulty. In this study, it was further observed that 61.9% of the histological diagnosis was NS subtype in cytohisto concordant group and it was 33.3% in the discordant group (P ¼ 0.1215).…”
