Abstract: Overdose of acetaminophen (APAP) produces fulminant hepatic necrosis. The underlying mechanism of APAP hepatotoxicity involves mitochondrial dysfunction, including mitochondrial oxidant stress and the onset of mitochondrial permeability transition (MPT).
