Role of Social Media in Health Professions Education

Abstract: teachers, and scholars. Achieving these goals requires specific skills and often new approaches for effective integration of social media. This chapter considers health professionals' use of social media in educationthe advantages, opportunities, and pitfallsfor learners, teachers, and scholars. We will consider some contemporary challenges including quality indicators, digital scholarship, ethics, and professionalism. A series of hypothetical case vignettes give readers tangible illustrations of our content.
